Lunch break well spent

Me again, blog,

So, you know how you love me? Remember that when I admit that- occasionally- I am an asshole on purpose.

For example, you know that saying “I like my men like I like my tea. Hot and British”?

that's the one
that’s the one

Well, the other day I thought it would be funny to tell hubs that I was getting that on a shirt. Knowing how he is about me liking other men. Especially British ones. (side note: he loathes it) When he got all huffy (he’s adorable when he’s huffy) I decided that there needed to be more of these sayings. But, you know, more absurd so he knows I’m joking and I don’t have to explain to my daughter why mommy is sleeping on the couch.

(“Because mommy is an asshole” is not something I want her to realize until she’s at least ten)

So I came up with a few sayings, and bandied them about with hubs. He frowned at one, laughed at another, and gave me his patented “can I have her committed for that” look for the third. Which, okay, was satisfying, but it didn’t get the sayings out there. No one has walked up to me and parroted my own joke back to me. (Which is a wonderful feeling, in case you didn’t know)

So, in honor of his birthday and not because I was bored, I spent lunch making up some images to go along with my new sayings.

Here’s the cute one that warranted a laugh:

I'll wait here while you LOL
I’ll wait here while you LOL

The second, which earned the frown:

And a raised eyebrow, which might negate the disapproval
And a raised eyebrow, which might negate the disapproval

And finally, the one that will be exhibit M in the hearing for my mental competency:

But, I mean, honestly...
But, I mean, honestly…

I hope you enjoy using them as much as I enjoyed coming up with them.

With love,
Ginny

P.S. Happy birthday to my darling husband. The world is a better place with you in it.

P.P.S. If you want to make up sayings, feel free to post them in the comments.
