Try not to dance: There’s Nothing Holding Me Back by Shawn Mendes

I took September off because I was burnt out from 2017 and just kept writing the same “everything is shit” article week after week after…

I took October off because my husband was gone two weeks so he could travel with his sick mother.

I took November off because by that point it was a habit…

I kept telling myself it was for NaNoWriMo (which I did not finish) or so I could rebrand and refocus and…

But let’s face it, I am no good with grand plans and big gestures. So it’s best to just dip my toes in before I take the plunge. To fucking wing it. And thus, a new feature was born:

Try not to dance
(a graphic would go here if I had one, but I don’t. See previous: winging it)

You know how there are those songs that come on and you forget where you are and start to shimmy? You know how Monday mornings suck? Well, let’s combine the two. Every Monday I’ll post another video that always gets me shaking my groove thing. You can either try not to dance (as a challenge to my DJing skills) or dance like everyone is watching and you just don’t give a shit anyway.

First up: There’s Nothing Holding Me Back by Shawn Mendes.

You’ve probably heard it already, but pop songs are popular for a reason. They’re catchy and make you sway. Plus Shawn Mendes is adorable as fuck and if you claim you don’t want to pinch his widdle cheeks I will call you a liar. (Pistols at dawn, sir…)

So give it a listen. Dance, or don’t. LEave me a comment to let me know if you danced (or didn’t). If you love the song or if you hate it. If you have a recommendation to get my blood moving this Monday morning. Even if you just want to say hello.
